Patrick DeLuca

Patrick Deluca is a comedian, actor, director, writer, and producer, but we prefer to just call him funny. His short comedic videos titled "That's My Daughter" are a favorite of ours at WickedInfo, even if it has caused all of our wombats to start wearing tight white jeans. You can befriend Patrick, and watch his videos, at MySpace.com/PatrickDeluca.

Q: You were one of the creative forces behind That's my Daughter's: Swayze. How were you able to capture the swagger and mega-mulleted goodness that is Patrick Swayze?

PD: When capturing the essence of Patrick Swayze myself and Owen Benjamin watched 24 consecutive hours of the great film ROADHOUSE. We studied him, his movements, and his amazing hair. Nick Swardson was the obvious choice to play Swayze because he's the only person we knew that could move so magically.

Q: Based on the success of your career, who owes you a major apology?

PD: Hmm, I don't think anyone owes me an apology really. I hated one teacher in 6th grade but I saw him at a wedding this summer and he was really feeble and decrepit and it made me feel sad for hating him all that time.

Q: You list A Confederacy of Dunces as one of your favorite books. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, John Kennedy Toole's 1980 novel is quickly becoming a modern classic. What part of the book resonates with you the most?

PD: Ignatius' delusions of grandeur reminded me of all the sad little ideas I had of becoming a professional baseball player even though I batted under .200 in little league.

Q: What's your patented technique for battling writer's block?

PD: I like to pace around when I'm working through something I'm writing. It's good to walk around and say things out loud. For some reason that helps. I always write really late at night so that there's less to distract me.

Q: Let's have you dish some dirt- when we say most overrated comedian, who's the first person to come to mind?

PD: Easy way out, most under rated comedian is Brody Stevens.

Q: Who would benefit most from one of your hugs?

PD: I want to hug Amy Smart. I can't say why though. That's between me and Amy.

Q: When you wake up in the morning, what's your first thought?

PD: First thought in the morning is "wow, that dream might mean that I'm ACTUALLY a crazy person now." Then I'm really glad that the dream wasn't real. Last night it was about two polar bears being loose inside my house.

Q: Where can we catch more of your work and stay updated on your career?

PD: I'll be announcing stuff on my sweet MySpace page www.myspace.com/patrickdeluca. I just wrote a movie that is going into production this year and have some TV stuff coming up. I'm excited for a good 2008 so I can buy a bed and not have my box-spring in direct contact with the ground for once.

Q: What is your New Year's resolution for 2008?

PD: My actual New Year's resolution is to set an alarm. I need to stop waking up at 4:00 PM once a week. It really F's up the whole sleep schedule.

Q: Let's end with word association. I say wombat and you say...

PD: Huge weiner.
