1) Great songs. - With over 70 songs including such as classics as Welcome to the Jungle, Paint It Black, Suck My Kiss, Bulls On Parade, among many others, there's something for everyone to enjoy. 2) Boss battles. - It's one thing to challenge yourself or a friend with a song, but the ability to play through the campaign and have to beat Slash, Tom Morello, and the devil add a little bit more fun to the game. 3) Play as Slash. -As if playing the game's bosses isn't enough fun, once you beat them you unlock the ability to play as them. Honestly, playing Welcome To The Jungle as Slash is one of the highlights of the game for me (although, admittedly, I make a few more mistakes than the real Slash would). 4) Co-op campaign. - If you have a buddy to play with, then you'll definitely enjoy the co-op play. You'll need two guitars to play (unless one of you decides to rock out with the standard controller), and you'll have the option of playing either lead guitar or bass (some songs only allow for rhythm guitar instead of bass). 5) Rock star feeling. - Are you tone deaf? Always wanted to rock out, but unfortunately the closest thing you have to musical talent is your ability to belch the alphabet? With Guitar Hero 3 none of that matters, and you can be a rock star in your own right (a much dorkier one, but still a star). 6) Online features. - Using Xbox Live you have the ability to download additional songs (at a cost) and play online against fellow gamers. That being said, the online play isn't as good as I would've liked, but it's still worth checking out. In fact, the amount of gamers who can hit 100% notes on every song is truly astounding. Oh, and while I do list the downloading of songs as a nice feature, I must admit that I was a little disappointed to discover that you have to download the Velvet Revolver songs instead of them being included in the game (especially considering that Slash and Velvet Revolver's music are included in most of the television commercials advertising the game). 7) Rock store. - The campaign mode includes a store where you can trade in the points you accumulate throughout the campaign to purchase new guitars, clothing, videos, and songs (not including the Xbox Live downloadable songs). While the store in itself doesn't really affect the gameplay, it does add a little extra incentive to keep playing the Guitar Hero 3.
