Oscar Nunez

Oscar Nunez may be best known for his portrayal of Oscar Martinez on NBC's hit TV show The Office, but his entertaining brand of comedy has also graced shows like Reno 911! and Halfway Home. Fans of the big screen can also see him acting alongside Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds this summer in the film The Proposal.

Q: Congrats on you and your cast mates from The Office being winners of a Daytime Emmy, the TV Land "Future Classic" award and, perhaps the most satisfying accolade, as a winner of a S.A.G Award. Has all that winning made up for your "unfortunate" loss in 1998 on Match Game?

ON: I had forgotten about that until now... thanks a lot.

Q: You originally hail from Cuba, but were raised in Union City, New Jersey. If you could take us on a tour of your hometown, what spots would you insist that we see?

ON: The juvenile detention center where I spent most of my youth.

Q: Your portrayal of Oscar Martinez on The Office continues to be a staff favorite here at Wicked Info. How difficult is it performing as the only "sane," character of the bunch?

ON: I think Oscar may secretly be insane as well, but just not as insane as the rest of "The Office." He hides it well; probably with a nice glass of wine.

Q: Staying on topic with The Office, what are 3 fascinating tidbits about filming the show that might surprise viewers?Oscar with The Office cast mates

ON: John is actually hilarious. Rainn is hilarious. Steve is hilarious. I am the most hilarious of all. Whoops! That was 4.

Q: Reno 911! features a superb cast of comedic actors, but I must say you more than held your own when you guest-starred as Captain Dwayne Hernandez. How difficult is it to perform that brand of comedy without cracking up during takes?

ON: It is very difficult, especially because everyone on that show is so talented and they're all such great comedic actors. It was really an honor to work with them. It was probably more of an honor for them to work with me.

Q: A lesser-known fact is that you finished as a finalist in the 1999 ABC Latino Writers Project. If you could go back in time and do it again, what would have been the key to you winning top prize?

ON: I would have hired a sniper to take out the competition. That seems like the easiest solution.

Q: Do you believe in New Year's resolutions and, if so, how has your progress been thus far?

ON: I believe that every year I won't make a resolution and I don't. I have been doing that very successfully for years.

Q: Who would you name as the biggest inspiration in your comedy?

ON: My biggest comedic influences would be Monty Python: Flying Circus, The Carol Burnett Show, and the Odd Couple.

Q: Which projects are you currently working on?

ON: I have a new film coming out with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds called The Proposal. It is in theaters June 12th!

Q: We end all interviews with simple word association. I say "wombat" and you say...

ON: Something that can only be read on websites with age verification and usually ends in XXX.
